Dozens of law professors have raised concerns over the controversial nomination of Madeline Singas to New York’s highest court.

Singas, the Nassau County district attorney and a career prosecutor, has come under heavy criticism since Gov. Andrew Cuomo selected her to replace Judge Leslie Stein on the state Court of Appeals. Critics say the third-term governor passed over more qualified candidates in nominating Singas for the role.
