Tennis star Naomi Osaka made headlines at the beginning of the French Open when she announced she would not be speaking to the press, and the firestorm only grew after she was fined and withdrew from the tournament altogether, saying she has struggled with depression and would "take some time away from the court."

While it was not immediately clear when Osaka plans to resume her sport, New York-based employment lawyer Douglas Wigdor of the plaintiffs litigation firm Wigdor said she would be likely to win a legal argument that she can participate in tournaments without appearing at press conferences.
