- Yevgeniy (Yev) Markov has joined Mayer Brown as a partner in the firm's corporate & securities practice and global insurance industry group. He was previously at Willkie Farr & Gallagher. In addition, Michelle Jewett has joined the firm as a partner in the firm's tax transactions practice. She joins from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. The firm has also hired Yuliya Feldman as an associate in the corporate & securities practice and global insurance industry. She joins from McDermott Will & Emery.
- Akerman has added Dale Alexandra Cohen as a partner in the firm's franchise and licensing practice. She joins from Kaufmann Gildin & Robbins.
- Nixon Peabody has named Todd Tidgewell as leader of the firm's corporate practice which comprises the firm's mergers & acquisitions, private equity investment funds, employee benefits & executive compensation, franchise & distribution, and tax teams.
- Allen Brill and Elliott Meisel, founders of Brill & Meisel, have joined Phillips Nizer's New York office. Also joining from Brill & Meisel are partners Mark Axinn and Christopher Aldridge, and associate Amanda Benishai.
- Jeff Aldridge and Steven Goldberg have launched Aldridge & Goldberg LLP as a New York-based real estate, finance, corporate and patent prosecution law firm. www.algo.law
- Aly El Hamamsy has joined Morrison & Foerster as a partner in the firm's mergers and acquisitions and private equity investments and buyouts groups. He was previously a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
- Cozen O'Connor Public Strategies has hired Kaitesi Munroe as a principal. She joins the firm from The Madison Square Garden Company, where she served as a government affairs & social impact associate.
- Davis Polk has promoted Michael Comstock, Dan Gibbons, Jeremy Larkins, Tracy Matlock, Benjamin Milder, John Runne, Robert Smith and Rachel Weissmann to counsel in New York.
- Steptoe & Johnson has added tax litigator Larry Hill, as a partner in the firm's tax practice and co-head of its tax controversy practice. He joins from Winston Strawn, where he chaired that firm's tax controversy practice.
- Leslie Corwin has joined Duane Morris as of counsel in the firm's trial practice group in its New York office. Prior to joining, he was the managing partner of Eisner.
- Jeremy Deutsch has joined Cozen O'Connor as a partner in the firm's commercial litigation practice. He joins from Anderson Kill and has brought Christian Cangiano, of counsel, Elliot Coz, counsel, and Eric Huang, Christopher Paolino, and Ian Bain with him as associates.
- Fox Rothschild has added partners Brian Cousin, Richard Scharlat and Neil Capobianco to its New York office. Prior to joining, Cousin led the international employment practice at McDermott Will & Emery. Scharlat and Capobianco were both partners in that firm's labor & employment practice.
- Kory Salomone has joined Zarin & Steinmetz as a partner. He was previously in private practice with Kory Salomone, P.C.
- Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has announced new counsel in New York: Diana Berisha, Rachel Blitzer, Kimberly Franko Lower, Nazmiye Gokcebay, Kyle Hatton, David A. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
