A town judge who was elected by a single write-in vote has resigned after passing up multiple chances to complete a judicial training program, a New York disciplinary commission said on Monday.

Jason Novak was elected to the role of Hornby town court judge in 2019 when he received a single write-in vote, according to the state Commission on Judicial Conduct. Months before the election, Novak was charged with driving while intoxicated after a reported crash, authorities said.
