A Manhattan attorney who was court-ordered to undergo a medical exam to determine whether physical or mental infirmity should prevent her from practicing law has been suspended pending possible further disciplinary action after not submitting to the exam for more than a year, according to a state appeals court.

The Appellate Division, First Department on Tuesday suspended Patricia M. De Grace-D’Aliasi from practicing law, writing in a succinct opinion that in 2019 it had ordered her to undergo the medical exam based upon an attorney grievance committee motion that itself was “based on respondent’s [De Grace-D’Aliasi’s] irrational conduct during and after a medical malpractice trial in which she represented herself as well as her conduct before the AGC.”
