Can their private foundation split too? Although everybody thought the couple in the painting American Gothic were inseparable, the couple is divorcing after many years of marriage. (Many believe the woman in the painting is the farmer's daughter. I know, however, that she's his younger wife. You'll recall, she's looking at him suspiciously while he holds that pitchfork.)
