The embattled chief financial officer of the Trump Organization has assembled a seasoned team of defense attorneys known for their quiet but tenacious advocacy both in and outside of the courtroom, attorneys said.

The duo—which includes Mary Mulligan, a veteran of the white-collar bar, and tax expert Bryan Skarlatos—was seen as including complementary skill sets in areas that were sure to be crucial in the defense of Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization official indicted Thursday in a scheme to avoid taxes on $1.7 million in income.
