Kevin M. Carter, a longtime Erie County Family Court judge and former Erie County acting Supreme Court justice, on Wednesday was appointed administrative judge for the state’s Eighth Judicial District in western New York, according to a state court system announcement.

Carter, who since 2019 has served as the district’s supervising judge of family courts, will replace Justice Paula L. Feroleto, according to the announcement from the state Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence K. Marks.
