Attorneys from Jenner & Block and The Legal Aid Society asked a Manhattan federal judge to block New York City from moving disabled and medically vulnerable homeless people out of hotels and into congregate shelters without appropriate consideration.
Under a 2017 settlement stipulation, the city's Department of Homeless Services is required to provide reasonable accommodations to disabled people in its system, and the accommodations cannot be revoked without notice, the attorneys argued.
