The New York State Bar Association has organized a task force on voting rights that will analyze new laws and proposals that restrict voting rights that have been passed or advanced in states controlled by Republicans.

The task force will make reform recommendations and will be led by election lawyer Jerry Goldfeder, who works as special counsel at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. The task force is expected to focus on demographics that have the most difficulty being able to vote, including people of color, people who are disabled, individuals with limited transportation access and workers who have multiple jobs.
