News that the state court system will require vaccines or regular testing for judges and court employees met a generally positive reaction from the New York bar Thursday, with attorneys hopeful that the courts will be able to continue hearing cases safely amid rising case counts in the state.

Barry Kamins, a partner at Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins and a former New York Supreme Court judge, praised the policy but noted its limits as crowds begin returning to courthouses.
