Ex-president Trump had a three-part strategy to overthrow the 2020 election: institute lawsuits to sow legal chaos; get Republican legislatures in several key states to say the election was fraudulent and appoint new delegates to declare Trump the winner; and with the support of extremists, instigate a violent insurrection at the Capitol to stop Congress from certifying the election results. As we know, every lawsuit was thrown out and judges are considering disciplinary charges against Trump’s lawyers for filing meritless lawsuits. Over 500 persons have been indicted for the January 6th insurrection. But the most insidious and dangerous scheme of all is slowly seeping into public awareness: the conspiracy between Trump and his loyalists inside the Justice Department to declare the election corrupt and enlist Republican allies to delegitimize the result. The plot was thwarted and is currently being investigated by the Justice Department.

To Attorney General Merrick Garland: Your office must bring criminal charges against Trump and his co-conspirators. If not, no future election in America will be safe.
