The U.S. Supreme Court handed down a number of significant decisions dealing with eminent domain this term.
Power of Condemnation Can Be Delegated
On June 29, 2021, the court decided PennEast Pipeline Co. v. New Jersey, 594 U.S. __ (2021). The court held that the federal government had properly delegated to private companies' federal authority to condemn necessary rights-of-way in state owned property.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls.
