These food delivery platforms say that New York City price controls are taking a bite out of their business, as well as hurting the city’s restaurant industry as it works to get back on its feet.

DoorDash and Grubhub sued the city on Thursday in New York Southern District Court over limits imposed during the pandemic on how much food delivery platforms may charge restaurants. The lawsuit, filed by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, contends that the price controls unconstitutionally intrude on freely negotiated contracts. The case is 1:21-cv-07564, DoorDash Inc. et al v. City Of New York.
