Mark Bini was an assistant U.S. attorney in New York and Florida and an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, arriving in private practice with experience that he said will help his clients avoid "problems" with the DOJ and state prosecutors.

After almost 15 years as a state and federal prosecutor, Mark Bini has joined Reed Smith in New York as a partner, the firm announced on Monday. Bini was most recently an assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn, stepping down from that role this month, and he previously held the same role in Florida's Middle District in Tampa.
He will also spend time at the firm's 29-lawyer Miami office. In an interview, Bini said that his experience as a federal prosecutor in Tampa will help him represent the firm's New York-based clients who have moved South during the pandemic and clients involved in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act cases.
