A former congressman, a midlevel appellate judge and attorneys across New York are among the slate of candidates vying for a state Supreme Court seat this election cycle.
Dozens of candidates will appear on the November general election ballot for state Supreme Court across New York state. While the races are some of the most low-profile in the state, the spots come with 14-year terms and open up a career path to the state's midlevel appellate courts, making them a prized possession in New York's legal community.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments.
