The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued Jose Luis Casero Sanchez Wednesday in New York Southern District Court over alleged violations of federal securities laws. The lawsuit accuses the defendant of insider trading while he was a senior analyst for an investment bank between Sept. 2020 and May 2021. Attorneys have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:21-cv-08085, United States Securities and Exchange Commission v. Sanchez et al.

Bloomberg reports that Sanchez was himself tasked with helping Goldman prevent insider trading and that he allegedly reaped $471,000 in ill-gotten gains.
