The Office of the Appellate Defender (OAD) will host its 28th annual “First Monday in October” gala and mock Supreme Court argument tonight, Oct. 4. The event will be held in person at Tribeca 360° and will also be livestreamed.

This year, Benjamin Brafman of Brafman & Associates, and Neal Katyal of Hogan Lovells will present arguments in NYSRPA v. Bruen, the first SCOTUS case to address concealed-carry firearms outside the home. They will each receive OAD’s prestigious Gould Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy.
