State Family Court Judge Mark Meddaugh, who has presided over family court matters in Sullivan County since 2003, and Karen Renee Crandall, a Schenectady-based solo practitioner, have been named this year’s recipients of the state bar association’s Howard A. Levine Award for Excellence in Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare.

The award recognizes career professionals for longstanding service in the areas of juvenile justice and child welfare, honoring “lawyers and non-lawyers who have done outstanding work to improve New York’s child welfare and juvenile justice systems,” according to the bar association.
