Judge Jenny Rivera once again appeared virtually to hear arguments at New York’s top court Wednesday as attorneys were left perplexed and surprised over news that she was not complying with a court system vaccine mandate.

Rivera, the longest-serving current judge on the state Court of Appeals, has refused to report her vaccination status or apply for an exemption to the court system’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement, a source with knowledge of the matter told the Law Journal.
