The U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed three new U.S. attorneys for New York’s Southern, Eastern and Northern districts, setting up a new era for the state’s federal law enforcement.

Damian Williams, who has served as chief of the securities and commodities fraud task force for the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York, was confirmed as the next leader of that office. He is the first Black person to fill the role.
