What were some of your most satisfying successes of the past year, and why? We are grateful that our firm seamlessly transitioned to remote work during the pandemic and, despite all the challenges involved, successfully negotiated and closed some of the most significant transactions in the most business. We are particularly proud of our work in connection with the acquisition by Reservoir Media Management, Inc. of the legendary Shapiro Bernstein catalog, the representation of Primary Wave Music in the acquisition of numerous iconic music catalogs, including the interests of Stevie Nicks, Olivia Newton John, and our role as music counsel on behalf of Big Hit America Inc. in its acquisition of Ithaca Holdings, LLC.

What qualities make a great dealmaker? A great dealmaker must be able to understand the "big picture" or "drone view" of a transaction while simultaneously having an acute attention to detail. Successful dealmaking not only involves helping one's client strike the most advantageous deal, but also managing complete and thorough due diligence, mitigating potential risks, and ensuring that the transaction documents are clear, unambiguous, and well-crafted. A great dealmaker must also be an acute listener—both to her clients and to opposing counsel and other participants in the transaction.
