The more-than 5,300 first-time test takers who graduated from American Bar Association-accredited schools had an 87% passage rate on the July exam, the New York State Board of Bar Examiners announced on Thursday.

That’s a 1% increase from the passage rate for that group from the July 2019 administration of the exam, the board said in a news release.
