New York voters on Tuesday approved a ballot measure to raise the jurisdictional limit for New York City Civil Court, allowing more cases to be heard in civil court rather than Supreme Court.
Advocates expressed cautious optimism about the change but said more resources will be needed in civil court to confront the expected influx of cases.
