The court system has named acting Supreme Court Justice Alvin Yearwood as the new administrative judge for criminal matters in Bronx Supreme Court.

Yearwood was appointed to New York City Criminal Court in 2003, and was reappointed to the bench three times. In January 2010, he was designated an acting Supreme Court justice in the Bronx and, in that role, he has presided over bustling court parts and conducted hundreds of felony trials, according to a court system news release.
