The New York State Bar Association has presented Gov. Kathy Hochul with its ratings for the seven candidates for a coming vacancy on the New York Court of Appeals, reporting that four of the hopefuls are “well qualified” for the job.
The State Bar gave its “well qualified” rating to Timothy Murphy, a federal defender for the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Western District of New York; Appellate Division, Fourth Department Justice Erin Peradotto; Appellate Division, Third Department Justice Stan Pritzker; and Appellate Division, Fourth Department Justice Shirley Troutman.
