On Tuesday, November 9th, the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission Hosted its 2021 Diversity awards. The program recognized New York judges, lawyers and legal professionals who have made significant contributions to further racial and ethnic fairness in the courts and justice system. For 30 years, the commission has served as a permanent entity dedicated to promoting racial and ethnic fairness within the courts and legal profession. In that time, the commission has developed and presented numerous programs for judges, court staff and attorneys on topics such as implicit bias, the over-representation of children of color in Family Court and diversity in the bench and bar.
