2nd Circuit Upholds Punitive Damages in Police Abuse Case
A panel said that the officers' "unprovoked" assault on a Black man who had called for help, and their "elaborate" cover up of the attack, supported an award of more than $350,000 in punitives following a second jury trial on damages.
