- Lisa Colosi Florio, former counsel to New York State Court of Appeals Chief Judge Janet DiFiore, has joined Abrams Fensterman as a partner in the firm's appellate practice group.
- Lynn Neils, former chief of the complex fraud/cyber security unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, has joined Foley Hoag as a partner in its white collar and government investigations practice group. Immediately prior to joining she was a partner at Baker Botts.
- Proskauer has added Whitney Magee Phelps as a partner in its health care practice. She joins from GreenbergTraurig where she was a partner. In addition, the firm has hired Robert Shmalo as a partner in its real estate practice. He joins from Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
- Jennifer Lee has joined Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg as a partner in the firm's tax practice. She joins from Osler.
- Anderson Kill has announced that Diana Shafter Gliedman, a senior shareholder in the firm's New York office and member of the firm's insurance recovery group, has joined the firm's executive committee.
- Bressler, Amery & Ross has hired Harrison Kaufman as counsel with the firm's real estate and cannabis law practice groups. He was formerly with The Kaufman Group. In addition, the firm has added Jorge Campos to its corporate and commercial transactions practice group. He joins from Sichenzia Ross Ference.
- Moses & Singer has hired George McCormick as a partner in its trusts & estates and asset protection practices. He joins from Steptoe & Johnson.
- Locke Lord has promoted Christopher Fontenelli and Straat Tenney to partners.
- Eversheds Sutherland has added Patrick Trostle as the head of the distressed debt and special situations fund group and as a partner in the firm's global energy practice group in New York. He was formerly with Moses & Singer.
- Weber Gallagher has added partners Theodore Eder and Thomas Park, and associate James French to the firm's litigation practice. There were all formerly with Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney.
- Mike Perlmutter has rejoined Cole Schotz as a member of its real estate He joins from the investment firm Seritage Growth Properties, where he was vice president and real estate counsel. He worked as an associate at Cole Schotz earlier in his career.
- Cynthia Jordano has been promoted to partner at Cohen Ziffer Frenchman & McKenna.
- Perkins Coie has promoted Adam Mandelsberg, Rachel Mechanic, Matthew Moffa and Nina Varughese to partners in the firm's New York office.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
