The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued Carol E. Cohen and Austin Rotter Thursday in New York Southern District Court over alleged insider trading violations. The complaint accuses Rotter, who was employed at a PR firm that directly serviced The Trade Desk, of obtaining material non-public information regarding quarterly earnings of the Trade Desk and informing his mother of said information.

Relying on this information, Cohen allegedly bought 1,000 common stock shares and realized a $45,646 profit. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 1:21-cv-09580, Securities and Exchange Commission v. Cohen et al.
