Fox News and its executives have asked a Manhattan federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit from a former on-air anchor who accused the network of harassment and discrimination, as a court-imposed deadline to retain plaintiff counsel passed.

In a court filing Monday, attorneys for the network said that the petitioner, Andrea Tantaros, was improperly using a New York state law, passed in the wake of the #MeToo movement, to invalidate an arbitration agreement requiring that her claims be resolved in private.
