State and federal courts in New York City are largely moving ahead with jury trials amid the recent surge of COVID-19 cases resulting from the highly infectious omicron variant.

As of Tuesday afternoon, neither the Eastern nor the Southern Districts of New York had formally imposed a delay similar to the one announced Monday by the federal court in Los Angeles, which said it was suspending jury trials through Jan. 24.
