The California lawyer who first introduced Michael Avenatti to Stormy Daniels on Wednesday described the embattled attorney’s frantic efforts to secure a $250,000 “bridge loan” around the time that Daniels realized she hadn’t received money she was owed for her autobiography.

The witness, Sean Ernesto Macias, said that Avenatti told him during a legal conference in September 2018 that Daniels was prepared to “blow up” her book deal over the missing payment, and asked Macias to represent Daniels in a potential lawsuit against her publishing company.
