During a panel discussion on prosecutors' roles in reforming the criminal justice system, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg defended and detailed some of the progressive policies he has instituted this month, including plans to vastly reduce incarcerations for misdemeanors, which he says will both lessen racial sentencing disparities and "free up" resources to combat a "gun crisis."
