The posts violated prohibitions against judges participating in fundraising and failed to promote "public confidence in the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary," the commission found.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct on Wednesday announced that it has recommended that a member of the local judiciary in Allegany County should be removed from office for posting sexist content on Facebook and fundraising for the National Rifle Association.
David R. Stilson, an Alma Town Court justice and an Andover Village Court associate justice, is not an attorney, according to the commission.
