New York Chief Judge Janet DiFiore on Monday announced that Albany County Family Court Judge Richard Rivera will co-chair the Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission, which focuses on racial and ethnic equity, diversity and inclusion for litigants and employees in the New York court system.

Rivera is set to fill the co-chair seat recently vacated by New York Court of Appeals Associate Judge Shirley Troutman, who was confirmed to the high court in January. He will serve alongside Appellate Division, First Judicial Department associate justice Troy K. Webber, the commission's other co-chair.
