Brooklyn DA Shuffles Homicide Bureau Leadership as NYC Battles Gun Violence
In 2021, homicide and shooting incident counts fell in Brooklyn as those numbers rose citywide.

With shootings and murders on the rise in New York City, the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office has elevated three prosecutors to top positions in its Homicide Bureau.
Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez announced this week that he has named Assistant District Attorney Leila Rosini as his office's first woman to serve as Chief of Homicide. He has also promoted assistant DAs Howard Jackson and Chow Yun Xie to first deputy chief and deputy chief of the bureau, respectively, according to a staff memo obtained by the Law Journal.
