WNYC reporter Fred Mogul was fired from New York Public Radio (NYPR) for plagiarizing portions of a draft story. NYPR Editor in Chief Cooper told those at a newsroom meeting Mogul was fired for plagiarism.

Defendants federally removed Mogul’s lawsuit on grounds the claims therein were preempted by §301 of the Labor Management Relations Act as either alleging a violation of the parties’ collective bargaining agreement or dependent on an analysis of CBA terms.
