K.C. Chiang Joins Olshan as Partner

- Kuang-Chu (K.C.) Chiang has joined Olshan Frome Wolosky as a partner in its tax practice. Before joining, he was with Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe.
- David Barr has joined Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as partner in the intellectual property practice and co-chair of the patent litigation group. He joins from Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer.
- Cohen Seglias has hired Richard Reice as a partner and member of the firm's labor and employment. He was formerly with Kauff McGuire & Margolis.
- Rimon has added trial litigator Michael Lazaroff as a partner. He joins from Reed Smith where he was also a partner.
- Marsh McLennan has appointed Mikhail "Misha" Vanyo as general counsel. He joined the firm in 2017 as the firm's chief competition counsel and later as chief counsel for global placement and specialty. He succeeds Katherine Brennan, who was named senior vice president.
- Sidley has hired Beatriz Azcuy as a real estate partner. Prior to joining, she was a partner with Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
- NYC Mayor Eric Adams has appointed Asim Rehman as commissioner and chief administrative law judge of the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH). He currently serves as deputy commissioner for legal matters and general counsel at the New York City Department of Correction.
- Queens Defenders has promoted Lisa Saltzman to Director of Training where she will work with both newly admitted and senior attorneys on all aspects of indigent criminal defense practice – from courtroom proceedings to new laws and regulations. She previously served as a supervising attorney at the organization.
- Goodwin Procter has added Robert Masellam as a partner in its mergers & acquisitions practice and life sciences and technology.
- Seyfarth has added two partners to its New York office: Jacob Cherry joins the firm's labor & employment department. He was previously with Ogletree Deakins where he was a member of that firm's immigration practice group. Seth Liebenstein joins the firm's real estate team. He was formerly at Blank Rome.
- King & Spalding has added partner Jarno Vanto to its data, privacy and security practice in New York. He was most recently a partner at Crowell & Moring.
- Insurance defense attorney Philip DeNoia has joined Fullerton Beck as a partner. He was formerly with Wilson Elser.
- Cuddy & Feder has elected Anthony Gioffre III as the firm's next managing partner. He succeeds Christopher Fisher who is stepping down after a five-year term. Eon Nichols, partner and vice-chair of the real estate, corporate, finance and non-profit groups, and Anthony Morando, partner and vice-chair of the firm's land use, zoning & development group and partner-in-charge of the Hudson Valley Office, were also elected to join the firm's management committee where they will succeed Gioffre and Michael Katz.
- Bradley Gould, a partner in the intellectual property department at Fox Rothschild, has been named the firm's New York office managing partner.
- Hunton Andrews Kurth promoted Armin Ghiam and Susan Saslow to partners.
- ArentFox Schiff has added Jeffrey Gleit as a partner in its bankruptcy & financial restructuring practice. Prior to joining, he was with Sullivan & Worcester.
- Morrison & Foerster has added Seth Kleinman as a partner in the firm's business restructuring & insolvency group. He joins from Arnold & Porter and will have a dual presence in New York and Chicago.
- Bressler, Amery & Ross attorney Tamar Gongadze has been appointed to New York City Bar Association's foreign and comparative law committee.
- Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney has promoted Miriam Manber to partner and Amory McAndrew and Steven Silverberg to counsel.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
