State bar association members are eligible for up to four free hours of mental-health counseling in a year. And they now have access to a hotline manned by mental-health professionals that they can dial for help and guidance, according to the bar association.

The hotline, and by extension the free counseling, which lawyers will be directed to through calling the hotline, come in response to recommendations set out last fall in the bar association’s extensive and change-focused “Task Force on Attorney Well-Being” report.
