New York’s largest law firms elevated a bumper crop of new partners in the last year, after promotions were muted in a prior 12-month period that overlapped with the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Legal market observers say that a year of deep uncertainty during the early part of the pandemic was followed by a year in which surging demand placed a premium on attracting and retaining talent.
