Peter Farrell, a 20-year veteran of New York City’s Law Department, has been promoted to chief of the office’s general litigation division, Corporation Counsel Sylvia Hinds-Radix announced on Thursday.

Farrell was elevated to the post, in which he will supervise 35 lawyers and staff, after serving as deputy chief of the department’s special federal litigation division since 2014.
