Sidley Names Yvette Ostolaza Chair of Management Committee

- Sidley has named Yvette Ostolaza as chair of the firm's management committee. She succeeds Larry Barden, who had served as chair of the committee since April 2014. Ostolaza is the first Hispanic woman to lead a top 7 AmLaw firm.
- Seward & Kissel has hired Jaimie Nawaday as co-head of its government enforcement and internal investigations group and partner in the litigation department. Formerly she was assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions.
- Withers has added Alison Lonshein as special counsel in its U.S. charities and philanthropy team, based in New York. She joins from The Frick Collection, where she was general counsel and assistant secretary.
- Baretz+Brunelle has hired Josh Anisfeld as the firm's new chief digital officer. He joins from the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles, where he was the head of digital marketing and the originator of its digital marketing function.
- Vincent Polsinelli and Christopher Stevens have joined Nixon Peabody as counsel in the firm's labor & employment practice in Albany. Polsinelli joins from Jackson Lewis and Stevens was most recently jn-house at Goldman Sachs.
- Greenberg Traurig, has added Curtis Stefanak, Raffael Fiumara, and Jae Woo Park as shareholders. Stefanak was previously with Holland & Knight and joins the firm's private funds group. Fiumara was a vice president and senior counsel at Goldman Sachs and will join the firm's global capital markets team. Park was formerly at Proskauer Rose and joins the firm's private equity and corporate practice.
- Johnathan Duncan has joined Haynes and Boone as a partner in the firm's capital markets and securities practice group. He will be based in New York. Most recently, he was counsel at ArentFox Schiff.
- Domenic Cervoni, former associate general counsel for HSBC North America Holdings, has joined Locke Lord's financial services litigation practice group as a partner.
- Phillips Lytle has named Kelly Marks, partner and leader of its tax practice, as diversity partner and chair the firm's DEI steering committee.
- Jim Koenig has joined Troutman Pepper as a partner and co-lead of the firm's privacy and cybersecurity practice in New York. He joins the firm from Fenwick & West, where he was co-chair of the privacy and cybersecurity practice.
- Reed Smith has added environmental lawyer Peter Trimarchi to its energy team in New York. He joins from Nixon Peabody, where he led their environmental and land use team.
- Louis Curcio and David Pisciotta have joined Reed Smith as partners in the firm's financial industry group. They both join from Troutman Pepper.
- Real Estate litigator Scott Pashman has joined Cozen O'Connor's real estate practice group as a member. He was formerly with Morrison Mahoney.
- Couch White has hired Peter Funk, Jr. as of counsel in the firm's energy and construction practice groups. He joins from Funk and Zeifer, LLP which he co-found in 2012.
- Christopher Isaacs has joined Katten Muchin Rosenman as a partner in its mergers and acquisitions/private equity practice. Prior to joining he was with Goodwin Procter.
- Weber Gallagher has named partners Scott Bermack and Robert MacMahon as the firm's general liability practice group co-chairs. Bermack is based in the firm's New York office and MacMahon will be in the firm's Philadelphia office.
- Barclay Damon has added Michael Lane as a partner in the firm's commercial litigation and labor & employment practice areas. He joins from Cullen and Dykman.
- Brown Rudnick has hired Aaron Lang as a partner in its litigation & arbitration practice and as a member of the crisis management litigation and government response team.He was previously special counsel at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft Lang.
- Bethany Hills has joined DLA Piper as a partner in the firm's FDA regulatory group. She will join as vice chair of the FDA practice, working with co-chairs Geoff Levitt and Stefanie Fogel.
- Fox Rothschild has elevated Daniel Benge, Zev Bomrind, Tamar Gubins, Cynthia Katz and Mary Therese O'Sullivan to partners.
- Daniel Shlomi has joined Crayhill Capital Management as general counsel. He was formerly with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
- Patricia Hambrecht has joined Pryor Cashman as of counsel in its art law group. She previously served as president and general counsel of Christie's North and South America, and deputy chairperson, chief business development officer, and general counsel of Phillips Auctioneers.
- Christopher Kula has joined Dentons' corporate practice as partner. He was previously with Cole Schotz.
- Daniel Zimmerman has joined Kramer Levin as a partner in its corporate department. He joins from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
- Blank Rome has hired Avery Cummings as an associate in the firm's real estate practice. She joins from McDermott Will & Emery. In addition, the firm has also added Kyle Durante as an associate in the firm's tax, benefits and private client practice group. He joins from Day Pitney.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
