With just a week remaining in New York’s legislative session, Gov. Kathy Hochul said she wants to work with lawmakers to make it illegal for anyone under 21 to possess a gun.

Hochul made the suggestion to a group of prosecutors and others during the second meeting of the Intra-State Gun Tracing Consortium at the New York State Intelligence Center in East Greenbush, noting a common thread between the bloodshed of shooting massacres in Buffalo and Texas this month: both were allegedly carried out by 18-year-old men armed with AR-15s.
