With real estate deals continuing at a high clip, two New York boutique law firms have combined to create what they say will be the city’s largest dedicated residential real estate practice.

Romer Debbas is joining with Katz & Matz to create a 35-lawyer firm that, together, closed last year about 1,900 residential purchase/sale transactions for individual clients and about 1,400 residential loan transactions on behalf of lending institutions.
