- Jeremy Shockett, formerly New York State's Deputy Secretary for Public Safety during the pandemic, has joined Anderson Kill as a shareholder and a member of the firm's white collar crime and corporate and commercial litigation practice groups.
- ArentFox Schiff has added Mamta Shah as a partner in its corporate & securities practice. She joins from Troutman Pepper.
- Polsinelli has added shareholder Crystal Persaud to its real estate finance group. Other laterals to the New York office include counsel Albert Dumaual, senior partner Lawrence Hirsh, and associates Anthony Artiglio, Zachary Seelenfreund, and Erika Colangelo.
- Howard Rosenberg has joined Baretz+Brunelle as a partner and head of the firm's newly-launched talent intelligence & analytics practice which provides firms with holistic lateral hiring support. In addition to co-founding a global investigative intelligence business, Rosenberg previously served as COO for Baker McKenzie. Most recently, he has consulted for law firms on management and operational issues.
- Vikram Sidhu has rejoined Mayer Brown as a partner in the firm's corporate & securities practice and global insurance industry group. He joins from Clyde & Co, where he was managing partner of its New York office.
- Securities lawyer Grant Buerstetta has joined DLA Piper as a partner in the firm's structured finance practice. He was previously at Blank Rome.
- Morrison Foerster has added Peter Skinner as a partner in the firm's securities litigation, enforcement, and investigations + white-collar defense group. He was formerly at Boies Schiller. The firm has also hired Joshua Lerner as a partner in its executive compensation group and tax department. He joins from McDermott Will & Emery.
- Nixon Peabody has added Emily Dinsmore as counsel in the firm's global finance practice. She was previously with Hodgson Russ. The firm has also hired Sean Garahan as counsel to its affordable housing and real estate practice. He joins from Kelley Drye & Warren.
- Rosenberg and Estis has promoted five of counsel to members. They are: Ethan Cohen, Peter Kane, Cori Rosen, Zachary Rothken and Anthony Virga. The firm has also promoted the following associates to of counsel: Jake Bedor, Elizabeth Brown, Brendan Derr, Nick DiLorenzo, Alex Estis and Justin Weitzman.
- Jon Ziefert has joined Cozen O'Connor in its New York City real estate practice group. He was most recently at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan.
- Offit Kurman has elevated Stephen Forte to principal.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
