- Vanessa Hew has joined Cozen O'Connor as a member in its intellectual property practice. She joins from Duane Morris.
- Mayer Brown has hired Cassandra Best and Benjamin Snyder as partners in the firm's banking & finance practice. Best was previously with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Snyder has joined from King & Spalding.
- Drew Chapman has joined Cole Schotz as a partner in the firm's newly launched shareholder activism practice. He was formerly with Baker Botts, where he was a member of that firm's corporate practice group.
- Alan Arkin has joined Offit Kurman as a principal in the firm's commercial litigation practice group. He was formerly with Cohen Tauber Spievack & Wagner.
- Steptoe & Johnson has added Eli Akhavan as a partner to the firm's tax and private client practice groups. He joins from Norton Rose Fulbright.
- Alston & Bird has added George Cahill as a partner in the firm's investment management team. He joins from Jones Day.
- Litigators Michael Bloch and Benjamin White have launched the boutique firm Bloch & White LLP which will be dedicated to civil rights, criminal and white-collar defense, and commercial litigation.
- Eliad Shapiro has joined Moses & Singer as a partner in the firm's litigation practice group. He was previously with Smith & Shapiro.
- Patent litigator Scott Doyle has joined Kelley Drye & Warren as a partner. He was previously the national chair of the IP litigation practice at Fried Frank.
- Jared Joyce-Schleimer has joined Orrick as a partner in the firm's energy and infrastructure He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
- Kenneth Coleman has joined Kasowitz Benson Torres as senior counsel. He was formerly the head of the U.S. restructuring group at Allen & Overy.
- Blank Rome has added David Moreno, Jr. as a partner in the firm's commercial litigation practice group and as a member of the firm's sports law team. Prior to joining, he was a partner at Brown Rudnick. In addition, the firm has hired two associates to its tax, benefits and private client practice group: Sara Osinski, who joins from Holm & O'Hara, and Madison Ball.
- Scott Simpson has rejoined Nixon Peabody as counsel in the firm's Rochester office. He was previously an associate from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2011 to 2012. Prior to returning, he was senior in-house counsel for an academic medical center.
- Phillips Lytle has hired six new attorneys: Elliott Ehrenreich joins the firm as a partner in the firm's corporate practice group; James Aiosa and Chong Lim join as special counsel in the firm's litigation practice group; Ethan Reed Salant joins as an associate in the banking & financial services practice group; Lucy Berkman joins as special counsel in the firm's family wealth planning practice group, and Sean Donahue joins as an associate in the land, environment & energy practice group.
- Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich has hired Liana Harutian as an associate in the firm's matrimonial practice. She was formerly an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
