Former Rivkin Radler partner Jason Kurland’s role as an attorney was a major focus for both the defense and prosecution during closing statements Monday in his wire fraud and unlawful monetary transactions trial.

Kurland, who specialized in representing lottery winners and helping them manage their jackpots, has been accused of directing clients’ money to businesses he managed with a neighbor and other co-conspirators without disclosing his ownership stake, according to prosecutors.
