A nonlawyer town justice who has served in that role since 2017 testified in April concerning the complaint and her failure to respond to the commission's inquiries.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct said Monday that it has accepted the resignation earlier this summer of a justice in St. Lawrence County, part of the state's North Country, amid an investigation that she failed to file reports or remit funds to the state comptroller.
