Reaction to the New York Court of Appeals’ selection of Judge Anthony Cannataro as acting chief judge ranged from praising the choice of the only jurist with experience as an administrative judge to a snub of the Latino community.

Cannataro declined to respond to a series of questions from the New York Law Journal on Thursday, including whether he wishes to be considered for the permanent chief judge post.
